Please tell us a bit about yourself and what you sell at Cool VW Stuff.
At Cool VW Stuff, our mission is to bring hundreds of officially licensed Volkswagen products to the world! We currently carry over 600 different VW lifestyle accessories from a wide variety of categories. That’s not all! We also have dedicated fan submitted VW galleries, VW vintage artwork, VW car club directory and programs, VW event schedules, and so much more!
When did you start selling online? Why?
Cool VW Stuff was formed in 2013 with the sole purpose of bringing licensed Volkswagen accessories to the Southern California VW community. Since then, we have grown to three warehouses, global shipping, a network of over 15 distributors worldwide, 52 affiliates, and 300 plus VW clubs. We also recently opened up our first retail location in Southern California so if you are in the area, look us up on our website or on Yelp!
What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced in building and running Cool VW Stuff?
The biggest challenges we have faced is creating awareness online. We have a niche market and driving the right traffic to our site is always a hurdle. To help with this, we have created a Facebook page, Instagram page, Pinterest page, Twitter account, Tumblr blog, and utilized our large network of affiliates to help grow our business and our brand.
How do you attract new customers?
We have found that the optimal source of generating new business and new customers has been to utilize marketing through our social media sites as well as some paid marketing. To keep customers engaged and coming back, we have new products come out monthly, we run giveaways and contests, and travel to local VW events to showcase our products.
Can you share a tip or something interesting you learned in the process of building and running Cool VW Stuff?
The biggest thing we have learned over the course of three years is that every customer’s satisfaction needs to be your top priority. Customer retention and loyalty goes a long way so our primary goal is to make sure each customer receives there order as soon as possible and that they are 100% thrilled with their products. Should a customer not be satisfied with the product, we accept all returns and will replace with another item or process a full refund. It is our goal to make sure that the integrity of our business is not compromised due to greed. We would rather have the VW community love us and our products.
