Please tell us a bit about yourself and what you sell at Wood Brim Hats.
I’m a graphic designer and entrepreneur. As a graphic designer, I’m always looking for new inspiration. So when the company I work for gave me the opportunity to work remotely, I decided to move from Baltimore to San Diego. I was instantly pulled into the creative wave of the city. I combined my passion for design and fashion, with wood to create Wood Brim Hats.
When did you get started selling online? Why?
I started selling online in 2014. I taught myself HTML and created my own clothing website. I started selling online to build a business that would give me creative freedom, and allow me to control my own time. I want to travel at my own leisure, but have a automated system in place to make money with little effort. I’ve worked for different companies and made them lots of money – but I realized I will never be rich or happy working for somebody else.I realized I will never be happy working for somebody else. What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced in building and running Wood Brim Hats?
Customizing my template was definitely one of the biggest challenges, but I overcame this by hiring a developer. Now my challenges are automating my marketing process; however, marketing is always changing which can be good and bad. It gives you more chances for people to see your product, but can be hard to keep up with.Marketing gives you more visibility, but is hard to keep up with. Click To Tweet
How do you attract new customers?
I attract new customers using Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and word of mouth. Hitting the pavement and actually going to businesses to showcase your product can also be very effective.
